Back by popular demand, the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment is once-again hosting its Idea Café at the NWT Tourism Conference this week in Yellowknife.
Over three days, tourism businesses, entrepreneurs and community governments and agencies are invited to drop into the café and meet one-on-one with ITI’s tourism staff to discuss how their ideas may fit with programs or services offered by the department.
This personal touch was one of the reasons why the café was so popular when it was launched last year.
Over coffee, participants can network with other professionals while finding the perfect fit for their tourism business idea, planned community infrastructure projects, or their mentorship wish-list.
New to the café this year: a helpful phone charging station so conference delegates don’t have to miss a minute of the action.
In addition to friendly expertise, the Idea Café will be stocked with program brochures, application information and new training resources. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources is also joining the Café this year to answer questions about protected areas (Nov. 6) and wildlife observation permits (Nov. 7).
