Northern agriculture pioneer, France Benoit, welcomed ITI Minister Schumann and MLA Vanthuyne to Le Refuge Farm today. In addition to touring the garden grounds, Minister Schumann and MLA Vanthuyne discussed with France the potential for agriculture in the Northwest Territories, the work being done by the Yellowknife Farmer’s Market, and the commercial opportunities for local food production in the North Slave.
