With long sunny days it’s quickly becoming beach season in the North. Many NWT Parks have public beaches that can be enjoyed during our long summer days. GNWT-employed Beach Attendants will be in attendance at Fred Henne Territorial Park beginning June 21 until the 3rd of September. They will be on duty 7 days a week rain or shine from 10:00am until 8:00pm.
Binjun (Colin) Wang arrived in Yellowknife in August 2016 travelling from Shanghai, China with his young family, a collection of suitcases and a business plan. The Northwest Territories (NWT) is home to some incredible hosts. During National Tourism Week (May 27 – June 1), locals nominated the best hosts in their communities for the many different ways they made visitors feel welcome – including greeting travellers at the airport, sharing language and culture, and giving tips on local attractions.
The 2018 48 Hour Music Video Competition wrapped up with an awards gala on June 5th. Presented by Western Arctic Moving Pictures (WAMP), the competition requires producers to draw from a list of participating bands and then work with the band for 48 hours to create a music video for judging.
