Get in on the 2022 Yellowknife International Film Festival Early, whether you’re a filmmaker or a videophile Friday, May 13 was your first opportunity to get tickets and submit films to the festival, now in its 16th year.

For moviegoers, tickets went on sale for both in-person shows and online viewing.

The show will go on November 2 - 6, 2022.

Western Arctic Moving Pictures (WAMP)’s Bran Ramsey, said that over the last two years the festival had nationwide attendance since being forced online by COVID. While YKIFF can now resume its exciting in person events, there seemed no reason to quell the growing interest from a broader national audience.

With an estimated over 1000 submissions, and 33 finalists selected in 9 categories, this festival is an opportunity for everyone to experience circumpolar creativity, be it domestic or international.

Ramsey also said that launching ticket sales and film submissions earlier this year, meant that the YKIFF could take advantage of marketing opportunities presented by other Canadian Festivals.

For filmmakers, there is a whole menu of submission deadlines and categories to choose from.

Earlybird: May 31
Regular: June 30
Late: July 31
Extended: August 10

Prices to submit films vary by date and type.
