Arts Business Support Fund is designed to support the growth and sustainability of the NWT arts economy; support the start-up and/or growth of businesses that provide arts related services; and build the diversity of arts inventory from NWT professional artists. This funding is for professional artists, individual entrepreneurs or small businesses that provide (or want to provide) arts-related services or products to the NWT arts sector.

The Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) Arts Operating Fund provides financial and developmental support to arts organizations who operate year-round in the Northwest Territories (NWT). Eligible applicants can receive between $20,000 and $200,000 per year.
This funding provides support for:
- Organizations whose primary financial support comes from Arts Operating Funding programs.
- Paid staff such as arts administrators, curators, technicians, volunteer coordinators, etc.
- The operations of arts infrastructure like artist-run centres, public galleries, performing arts venues, etc.

- Artist’s education through programming like workshops, mentorships, residencies, artist talks, etc.

- The creative and professional growth of NWT artists and craftspeople.

The Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) Artist Travel and Touring Fund provides support to NWT individual artists or groups of artists that want to travel within or outside the territory to promote, share, or advance their artistic practice.

- Individual artists can apply for up to $4,000 per year.

- A group of artists can apply for up to $8,000 per year.

This fund is intended for artists who have developed their craft to a level where they are ready to engage broader audiences, pursue professional opportunities beyond their home community or the NWT, and expand the reach of their work
