The NWT Arts Program has partnered with the Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG) to bring eight NWT Artists to the 7th Annual CRAFTED: Show + Sale in Winnipeg, November 5-7, 2021.
CRAFTED: Show + Sale is an annual, one-of-a-kind juried craft show that features over 50 professional artisans offering the finest in locally hand-made arts and crafts. In 2020, nine NWT artists participated in the online sale, and this will be the first year that NWT artists will be present at the show, showcasing their work and themselves as artists.

“The NWT Arts Program continues to build and strengthen new partnerships with Arts and Craft Organizations across Canada, giving NWT artists an opportunity to foster new customer relations, network with other artists, and seek new economic development opportunities from being showcased, said Johanna Tiemessen, Manager Arts Programming. “The WAG is excited to have NWT artists at the show, as they aim to diversify their offerings and strengthen relations with NWT artists. The new Qaumajuq Inuit Art Centre, which opened in March 2021, is a testament to the WAG’s commitment and collaboration with artists of the North.”
The NWT Arts Program put out a call for artists to apply for this opportunity. Sixteen applications were received, of which 8 were accepted to participate. Artists were selected in an attempt to ensure a variety of artwork and artists are represented from across the NWT. The NWT Arts Program will work with the selected artists to ensure they are market ready for this event.
Congratulations to the following artists who will travel to Winnipeg for this economic opportunity.
