The Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) Artist to Market Program (AMP) works with national and international partners to create new economic development opportunities for Northwest Territories (NWT) artists to showcase their talents and sell their work to a new audience, either outside or inside the NWT.

The Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) Medium Arts Project Grant provides $5,001 - $15,000 in funding for medium-scale arts projects and events to mid-career and established artists, craftspeople and arts/non-arts organizations. This grant supports a wide range of arts activities, including creation, production, presentation, training, and artistic development in the following disciplines:

• Dance

• Theatre Arts

• Literary Arts

• Film and Media Arts

• Digital Arts

• Music and Sound

• Visual Arts

• Crafts (Traditional and Fine)

• Fashion

• Multidisciplinary Arts (projects that include multiple disciplines)

• Other

The Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) Arts Operating Fund provides financial and developmental support to arts organizations who operate year-round in the Northwest Territories (NWT). Eligible applicants can receive between $20,000 and $200,000 per year.
This funding provides support for:
- Organizations whose primary financial support comes from Arts Operating Funding programs.
- Paid staff such as arts administrators, curators, technicians, volunteer coordinators, etc.
- The operations of arts infrastructure like artist-run centres, public galleries, performing arts venues, etc.

- Artist’s education through programming like workshops, mentorships, residencies, artist talks, etc.

- The creative and professional growth of NWT artists and craftspeople.
