Western Arctic Moving Pictures is “taking the show on the road” with the On The Road tour that will screen a selection of films from the Yellowknife International Film Festival in five NWT communities.
Together with local partners films will be screened region to region in libraries, community halls, recreation centres, and a theatre, all at no cost.
Congratulations to Inuvialuit artist, Erica Joan Lugt of Inuvik, who was chosen along with 11 other students, to participate in the 2021 National Fur Design Competition. The National Fur Design Competition encourages young designers to develop innovative ways to work with fur, and to explore its versatility and sustainability.
The Government of the Northwest Territories is providing funding to tourism operators that have exhausted the support available to them under the federal government’s Northern Business Relief Fund (NBRF) and Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF).
Tourism operators will be able to apply to the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment to cover the same fixed operating costs set out under the NBRF.

An exciting week-long celebration of northern-based films at the annual Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ Film Festival is shining a spotlight on NWT visual artists, film-makers, screenwriters, and film producers.
This is the second year for the festival. It began Sunday (February 21, 2021) with two exclusive screenings of the NWT film “Elijah and the Rock Creature.”
