Celebrate NWT Mining Week With Us!

Mining is the cornerstone of the NWT economy and a rich and diverse part of our territory’s history.   From June 2-9, join in the fun and learning at a variety of free public events as we celebrate the mining sector’s vital role in our territory’s past, present and future. NWT Residents Invited to Hone Hosting Skills and Receive Welcome Signage

To mark Tourism Week, May 27 – June 1, ITI is offering a series of 2-hour NorthernMost Host workshops. There is an added incentive during Tourism Week – all participants who complete the training will receive a sign for their business in Cantonese and Mandarin. The signage recognizes 2018 as the year of Canada-China Tourism and better serves the growing market of visitors to the NWT from China.

Accommodations ‘on the water’ means something a little different in the Northwest Territories (NWT). At Yellow Dog Lodge, you can cast yourself adrift on a private floating deck and camp in the middle of the lake, beneath the midnight sun. Economic Diversification may be one of the most prevalent themes of the 18th Legislative Assembly. It’s foundational to the government’s mandate and discussions about how we can improve the quality of life in the Northwest Territories (NWT). That can mean high demands for the position of Director of Economic Diversification at the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI). But new recruit Joel Holder isn’t shying away from the task.
