Northwest Territories (NWT) filmmakers are making their presence – and talent – known at the Available Light Film Festival in Whitehorse, Yukon which runs February 3 – 11.
The annual film festival brings together industry professionals and up-and-coming filmmakers for networking, panel discussions, workshops and pitching opportunities.For the first time, a special showcase has been developed to feature films from the NWT.
The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment is partnering with the NWT Mine Training Society, Aurora College, and members of the local mining industry to fill the need for qualified geoscience workers. The Geoscience Field Assistant Training Program is a five-week, classroom-based course, which is followed by 160 hours of on-the-job training.

In a format akin to "speed dating" networking windows were timed and when the clock ran out on one meeting, the NWT delegation would move on - and with a new round of handshakes and pleasantries, new talks would begin.
