Caroline Wawzonek, Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) today announced new engagements with stakeholders and partners to help advance a Northwest Territories (NWT) Knowledge Economy (KE).
NWT groups and residents have the opportunity to explore and contribute to the discussion around the KE through a number of engagements, an online survey and an ideas platform.
ITI Minister Caroline Wawzonek announced this week that the GNWT is beginning work with a broad range of partners to create a Knowledge Economy Action Plan for the Northwest Territories.
Two NWT films will be showing on the big screen at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto in March 2022. They were the NWT winners of the 2021 National 48 Hour Short Film Challenge hosted by Western Arctic Moving Pictures (WAMP).
Tourism funding announced by the federal government May 28, 2021 is already at work in Hay River.
Supported by $57,500 received from the GNWT through ITI’s Community Tourism Coordinator Program ($50,000) and Tourism Product Diversification and Marketing Program ($7,500), the combined government investment is helping the town re-imagine its tourism offerings to attract a greater variety and number of travelers to the ‘Hub of the North’.
