Want to be your own boss?
The Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Government of the Northwest Territories to produce a resource guide for Yellowknifers looking to start their own business.
It includes details on important topics like business licensing, zoning development, payroll tax and intellectual property, this startup checklist can help you establish your business and get your idea off the ground.
With 393 active, engaged business people among their membership, and countless others who may reach out while testing the waters in the business world, the Chamber offers an important point of contact for entrepreneurs seeking this kind of information.
The project is a reflection of the longstanding partnership that exists between the GNWT’s Department of ITI and the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce – and of their common goal to grow and diversify the local economy.
As an entrepreneur or small business owner/operator in the NWT, you may also be eligible for funding under the GNWT’s Support for Entrepreneurs and Economic Development SEED policy to help you start your business and improve your own skills or business capacity.
