An updated bedrock geology map and database will aid explorers and academic researchers investigating the mineral-rich Slave Geological Province. 

The GNWT’s REDI (Resource and Energy Development Information) initiative was in Fort Smith in late November. The initiative encourages NWT residents to “Get REDI” with fact-based information about the benefits, risks and potential for resource and energy development in the NWT.

The new territorial government – who I am representing today - is the reflection of an incredible evolution in our territory.  

The NWT Mineral Development Strategy (MDS) has been in full swing since its implementation in 2014. The recently released Progress Report lays out the results of activities carried out in relation to the MDS from fiscal years 2016 – 2019. The MDS is one of the GNWT’s key policy instruments in improving investor and public confidence in the resource sector.
