This program is intended to encourage film producers to choose the Northwest Territories (NWT) as their film location by rebating a percentage of the money they spend in the area. The rebate covers costs such as goods and services, traveling within the NWT, and hiring or training local residents.
The NWT Arts Program promotes arts and fine crafts to local, national and international markets. Program registration is free to all NWT artists including those in traditional and contemporary visual arts and fine crafts, performing arts, literary arts and film/new media.
The unique landscape, natural environment and vibrant cultural essence of the Northwest Territories offer a spectacular backdrop for film and television production in Canada's North.
By acting as a liaison to key contacts and service providers, communities, production companies and the Government, the NWT Film Commission works with industry professionals seeking to capture the images and sounds of this spectacular land and the wonderful people who live here.
