Funding Program

Tourism Training Fund

This program is not currently accepting applications.

The Tourism Training Fund (TTF) is designed to fund short-term training opportunities for tourism workers to gain new skills or to upgrade skills and assist tourism operators in the NWT to support and encourage a well-trained tourism labour force.

Tourism Product Development Tools

Product development improves the profitability of tourism businesses by increasing the number of products and services available for tourists – as well as the number of visits, length of stay and spending by individual visitors.

ITI works with members of the NWT’s tourism industry to support the development and enhancement of new tourism products and services. In particular, ITI is working with the Aboriginal Tourism Champions Advisory Council to advance and develop Aboriginal Tourism in the NWT.

Community Futures Program

The Community Futures Program is a community-based economic initiative delivered in each region by Community Futures Development Corporations.

These Corporations operate independent of government as non-profit organizations and are overseen by volunteer Boards of Directors representative of the regions and communities they serve.

Annual funding for the Community Futures Program is obtained through contributions from the Government of the Northwest Territories.
